今日は大会準備員回がありました。
あと1ヶ月ということで、さまざま準備が進んでいます。
参加者の募集も締め切られ、プログラムの印刷、記念品の手配などは概ね完了しつつあり、海外ゲストの講演会ゲスト二人と会員二人による座談会、公式二次会などのプログラムについても詰まりつつあります。
大会準備委員になるのは今回が5回目ですが、毎回手探りで進める感もあり、できれば簡単なマニュアルかチェックリストのようなものがあるといいのかなと感じています。
リアルタイムでやってることを書いておけばいいなと思っていましたが、若干サボり気味なので、初期の打ち合わせなども振り返りつつまとめています。
海外ゲストはアンドルー・フィンケルさんです。フィンケルさんはトルコを拠点に活動するジャーナリスト・ライターで、ザ・タイムズ、エコノミスト、ニューヨーク・タイムズなどのメディアでトルコ情勢を長年取材してきた方。シャーロッキアンでもあり、『The Adventure of the Second Wife: The Strange Case of Sherlock Holmes and the Ottoman Sultan』というホームズパスティーシュ作品を書かれています。実は未読なのですが、シャーロック・ホームズが、実在の人物であるオスマン帝国の最後の専制君主アブデュルハミト2世と関連する物語、だそうです。
